Almabase
Storyboarding two launch films for Almabase's fundraising platform
Almabase spent thirteen years building alumni engagement software for schools and universities. Revvloop made two launch films for it, and I storyboarded both.

Introducing Almabase for Healthcare to foundations that had never heard of it
Most hospital foundations already ran someone else's software. Almabase released the film with its announcement of Almabase for Healthcare on 4 August.

Overview — Opening on the problem before the platform
The film had to show why Almabase belonged in the room before it showed the product. So it opens on a number: 71% of healthcare foundations call donor acquisition one of the toughest parts of their job.
I wireframed the whole film, then storyboarded and styled its key moments for Revvloop's motion designer to animate.
The cost curve starts inside a product screen, then breaks out as the 71% lands.
Almabase forms, and the donors and their activity start circling around it.
Events, campaigns and donor communications meet in one point, and the Almabase logo forms from it.
Storyboard — Turning a nine-beat script into frames
The script runs in nine beats, from the hook through the healthcare gap to the close. I wireframed each beat, then reworked the whole sequence in a second version before the frames were rendered.
Stylescapes came next. They set the look the motion designer would follow, from the background colours to the icon system.

Assets — Designing the interface the film shows
I built the stylescapes in high fidelity, including the donor profile and the platform views, so every one went straight to After Effects to animate.

Introducing Almabase's full set of fundraising solutions to a general audience
The film walks through everything Almabase does for teams that run fundraising events, from sponsorships and auctions to payments and data sync.
Overview — Following one fundraising event from sponsors to reconciliation
The script follows a single event, from chasing sponsors for logos weeks before to working through every detail in Raiser's Edge NXT afterwards.
Almabase arrives before the halfway mark, and each part of the platform then answers one of those problems. I wireframed and storyboarded every frame of this film and designed every asset in it for Revvloop's motion designer to animate in After Effects.
Storyboard — Wireframing against the script, then styling
The storyboard started as low-fidelity wireframes laid against the script, one frame per line. Stylescapes then fixed the colours and the icon system the motion designer works from.
Reflections — What I learned
Lead with the buyer's problem
Both films open on problems before the product. People who have never heard of a company only care about its product once they recognise their own problem in it.
The product got less screen time
In the Healthcare film, opening on the problem left the platform less than half the runtime, so each feature got one clear view on screen.
